It is based on Luke Jennings's Codename Villanelle novella series, and developed for television by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh), a desk-bound MI5 officer, begins to track down talented psychopathic assassin Villanelle/Oksana Astankova (Jodie Comer), while both women become obsessed with each other.
